Which Way to Heaven? - Matthew 7:13,14. The final destination, whether Heaven or Hell, will be determined by the gate they enter and the path they walk in this life. Pastor Harris explains Jesus' very sobering illustration in this sermon. Those who are on the wide path to Hell may surprise you.

Our Good Father - Matthew 7:7-12. Christians can trust God because God is good and proves it over and over. Pastor Harris discusses God's goodness in the sermon as well as the Christian's response in seeking to reflect their Father by being good to other people. This is the context for the "Golden Rule."

Our Holy Treasure - Matthew 7:6. The gospel is a precious and holy treasure. Pastor Harris explains Jesus' teaching in this passage on treating what is holy properly and how to discern who to proclaim the gospel to and from whom to withhold it. 

Judging Others - Matthew 7:1-5. It has become common for people to deflect criticism of their sin by saying "you should not judge lest you be judge," but that is a misuse of what Jesus said in this passage. Jesus actually requires us to discern when people are in sin and address it. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains Jesus' commands concerning judging others.

The Cure for Anxiety - Matthew 6:25-34. Humans naturally tend to worry, but Christians do not need to do so. In fact, Jesus commands them not to be anxious and in this passage He explains why. Pastor Harris' exposits this passage concluding that the cure of anxiety is trust in God demonstrated by making His kingdom and righteousness your first priority. 

Who's Your Master? - Matthew 6:22-24. As much as man want to think of himself as being autonomous, he will be a servant to someone or something else. Jesus makes the point in this passage that man will serve either God or mammon - the things of this world. Which do you serve?

Where Is Your Treasure? -  Matthew 6:19-24. You will define success by what you value in life. In this passage Jesus demonstrates the futility of treasuring those things that are on earth and explains the importance having your treasure in heaven. 

Fasting: Then and Now - Matthew 6:16-18. Jesus corrects the self-righteous religious hypocrites of His day concerning their improper practice of fasting, practices that continue to this day among the ascetics. Pastor Harris brings out these corrections in this sermon and also discusses the proper practice and motivations for fasting - something that fundamentalists and evangelicals tend to neglect.

Loving Your Neighbor - Matthew 5:43-48.  Anyone can love someone that loves them. Jesus puts the standard of righteousness at loving our enemies and praying for those that persecute you. True righteousness pursues being perfect even as God is perfect. 

Resisting Revenge - Matthew 5:38-42.  In this sermon Pastor Harris explains this often misunderstood passage because it is so frequently taken out of context. While the righteous are not to seek their own revenge, for that belongs to God, neither are they to be pacifists.
  

Dangers of Divorce - Matthew 5:31-32. While society now take a casual view of divorce, it is still a tragedy with great personal, financial and societal costs. Jesus exposes hypocrisy of teaching of the Scribes on divorce showing that unrighteous divorce results in multiplied adultery. Pastor Harris explains Jesus teaching on this subject in this sermon. 

Lust & You Lose - Matthew 5:27-30.  Jesus contrasts the teaching of the Scribes by showing that adultery is a matter of the heart, not just a physical act. Sin is serious with eternal consequences so radical measures should be taken to protect oneself from sin. 

Hate & You Lose - Matthew 5:21-26.  The self-righteous interpret the Law in a narrow sense so they can get as close to breaking it as possible without actually doing so. The truly righteous obey the spirit of the law. Jesus illustrates this principle by contrasting the Scribes understanding of murder and God's commands concerning hate. 

Fulfilling the Law - Matthew 5:17-20.  Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains how Jesus did that as well as the continuing purpose of the law in its various aspects. This lays the foundation for understanding how a person can have a righteousness that is greater than the Scribes and Pharisees who prided themselves at keeping the law.

Salt & Light - Matthew 5:13-16. Christians are salt and they are light. They only questions is how salty they are and whether others can see their light. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains the meaning of Jesus' analogy and how to make sure you being what Christ wants you to be.

Persecuted, but Joyful - Matthew 5:10-12.  Persecution is a normal part of the Christian's life. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains why that is a general response of the evil towards the righteous and why Christians can be joyful in the midst of it.

Blessed are the Peacemakers - Matthew 5:9.  Peace is much more than the absence of current conflict. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains what peace really means, how to be a peacemaker and how that is related to becoming a son of God. 

Blessed are the Pure in Heart - Matthew 5:8: May 17, 1992.  A religious man can fool himself that he is good by his many religious activities, yet the truth is that his heart can be as wicked as ever. David cried out to be clean in the inward parts, not just the outward. In this Sermon Pastor Harris explains what it means to be pure in heart and how that can happen through Jesus Christ. This is absolutely necessary for it is only the pure in heart will see God.

Blessed are the Merciful - Matthew 5:7; May 3, 1992.  Mercy is a quality best understood by those who are in need of it, and those who best know they need are also the ones that receive it. The proud do not see their need, so they refuse to receive and thus condemn themselves. Pastor Harris explains in this sermon how to receive God's mercy.  

Hungering for Righteousness - Matthew 5:6. April 26, 1992  Many people claim they desire God, but relatively few demonstrate that by an equal desire in pursuing holiness in reflecting God in their lives.
