While the specific blessings and curses belong to Israel alone, the general principles belong to everyone. Introduction:  Over the last couple of weeks we have examined the book of Leviticus and the laws God gave to the sons of Israel concerning sacrifices, ceremonial purity and the moral standards by which they were to live. God was now dwelling in the Tabernacle in the midst of their camp. This placed the sons of Israel in danger of being destroyed if they did not approach the Lord properly or lived in a manner of continuing sin. The sacrificial system and purity laws allowed them to approach the Lord properly, and the morality laws defined for them God’s standards for their behavior as well as the penalties for various sins. God is loving, merciful, kind, gracious, patient and longsuffering, but He is also holy, righteous and just. Sin cannot continue in His presence without His judgement coming upon the unrepentant sinner. That is still true today.

Though Joseph has suffered from the evil intentions of his brothers who sold him into slavery, and the evil intentions of Potiphar's wife who lied about him and had him thrown in jail, God used those very things to train Joseph and then elevate him into a position in which he was able to save both Egypt and his family from the seven years of severe famine.

The hope that came with the birth of Cain turned to sorrow when he murdered his younger brother, Abel. Cain's descendants, though very intelligent, are marred with sin. The descendents of Adam & Eve's third son, Seth, trace the line of promise, but they are also marked by sin. Though they lived incredibly long lives averaging 912 years, each of them dies with the exception of Enoch.

In this sermon Pastor Harris carefully goes through the text of Genesis 1 and demonstrates that only the literal interpretation is supported by the text itself. He further compares its order to that of evolution to demonstrate that Genesis 1 cannot be reconciled with evolution and still have any truth with in it. God is capable of doing what He claims and communicating His actions clearly to men. A Dad's Involvement - Father's Day Message - June 17, 2007.

Every dad will leave a legacy. The question is simply what will that legacy be? Those who follow God's design for the family will leave a legacy of blessing not only to the descendant, but to all society as well. Those that do not leave a curse to both. The Incredible Worth of a Woman

Feminism has been detrimental to women due to its preference for male rather than female qualities. What Type of Fool Are You?

Today is April 1, a day commonly referred to as "April Fool’s Day." It is a day that by popular custom is full of practical jokes and trying to dupe the gullible. While Scripture does not speak about "April Fools Day," it does speak quite a bit about different types of fools. Today I want to talk to you about these different types of fools and what our response should be to them. The Ignorant Fool, The Educated Fool, The Apathetic Fool and the Wise Fool. Three of these are deadly in a very real sense, and the last describes the kind of person we should be.

What is man? That may seem like a simple question, but the answer to it will have a lot of ramifications including determining what value he may or may not have. The basis for racism, genocide, abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and host of other evils are all related to a wrong understanding of man and his value. The answer to the question is not found in man himself, but in the God who created him. In this sermon Pastor Harris those issues by showing what Scripture says about man, how sin affected him and how salvation in Jesus Christ can restore him.

Petitions of Prayer, Pt. 1 -  Selected Scriptures

Part 8 in the series on prayer. - What things should we be praying for? This morning we will be looking at the specific petitions the apostles mention in the Scriptures. My hope is that this will stimulate your prayer life by moving you to pray as the Apostles did. As we go through the list, examine your own prayer life and consider what should be added and/or emphasized in it and what should be reduced or eliminated. Confidence in prayer comes from praying according to God's will (1 John 5:14,15) - and praying as the Apostles did will ensure we are praying according to God's will.

Prerequisites to Prayer

 While it is true that since believers are cleansed from their sins through faith in Jesus Christ that they can therefore come before God’s throne of Grace (Hebrews. 4:16), and because they are adopted in to God’s family they can before Him at any time as His children, it is not true prayer is without restrictions. The Bible contains many commands concerning the proper approach to God and requirements concerning the petitions that are brought before Him. If we want God to answer the requests we make to Him we must first make sure we are fulfilling the many prerequisites to proper prayer. This sermon discusses those prerequisites and how to meet them. 

The Proper Pattern of Prayer, Pt. 2 - Matthew 6:10-14

We can get so caught up in the rush of trying to live that we forget what life is all about. It takes diligence to keep the proper priorities in life and we struggle against that pressures that call for us to fill up our time with so many other lesser things. We know that time with the Lord is the life blood of the Christian life, yet in the rush to get everything else done, that ends up suffering. We then try to prevail in our own power and fail to communicate with the One that empowers us to live. But even if we do manage to keep time reserved to spend with the Lord, it is not enough to just spend time in prayer, we must also pray properly.

This sermon continues an exposition of the model of prayer that Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 6:9-13.  It explains what it really means to pray for "Thy will be done" as well as trusting God to provide for our daily needs, forgive us our sins and protect us from falling into sin.
