Prophecies of Return & a Future Kingdom - Ezra, Nehemiah & Prophets. Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church, December 23, 2007.

In this sermon Pastor Harris traces the prophecies of return from exile and of a future kingdom from Leviticus to Malachi. Though the various prophecies warned of impending judgement, they also gave hope of future restoration following exile and of a kingdom still future that would never end.

When People Do What is Right in Their Own Eyes - The Book of Judges. Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church, NY November 25, 2007

In this sermon Pastor Harris traces the reasons for the period of Judges and the cycles of disobedience, idolatry, oppression, repentance and deliverance. The book is a stern warning to both individuals and nations of what happens when people do what is right in their own eyes instead of what is right in God's eyes.

Conquest - The Book of Joshua

Conquest - The Book of Joshua, Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church, NY, November 18, 2007

Introduction: In this sermon Pastor Harris traces the conquest of the promised land by Joshua. It is a story miracles and victory because of their obedience to God's commands - and failure when they disobeyed. That is still an important lesson for those living today.

Harris. In this sermon Pastor Harris gives an overview of the book of Deuteronomy with an emphasis upon its them of God's blessing for obedience and curses for rebellion. While the specific blessings and curses belong to Israel alone, the general principles belong to everyone.
Consequences of Rebellion - Numbers

Consequences of Rebellion - The Book of Numbers, Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church, NY, November 4, 2007

Introduction: Over the last couple of weeks we have examined the book of Leviticus and the
laws God gave to the sons of Israel concerning sacrifices, ceremonial purity and
the moral standards by which they were to live. God was now dwelling in the
Tabernacle in the midst of their camp. This placed the sons of Israel in danger
of being destroyed if they did not approach the Lord properly or lived in a
manner of continuing sin. The sacrificial system and purity laws allowed them to
approach the Lord properly, and the morality laws defined for them God’s
standards for their behavior as well as the penalties for various sins. God is
loving, merciful, kind, gracious, patient and longsuffering, but He is also
holy, righteous and just. Sin cannot continue in His presence without His
judgement coming upon the unrepentant sinner. That is still true today.

God’s Moral Standards - Leviticus 19-27, Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church, NY, October 28, 2007. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains the relationship between New Testament commands and the moral laws of the Old Testament. Christians are not free to do whatever they desire and sin for God has given them moral standards by which they are to live. God still gives blessings for obedience to Him and curses for disobedience

Harris Grace Bible Church, October 14, 2007. In this sermon Pastor Harris explains God's judgement upon Israel because of their false worship of the golden Calf. It is dangerous to worship God improperly. Moses intercedes for them and in the process sees God's glory.

Living in God’s Presence - Exodus

Living in God's Presence. Exodus 21-31; 35-40. Pastor Scott L. Harris, Grace Bible Church October 7, 2007. The current casual approach to God common in American culture is contrary to God's stated will that people approach Him properly. In this sermon Pastor Harris goes over God's instructions to Israel which include the detailed design of the Tabernacle. If Israel was to be able to survive with the presence of the Holy God in their midst, they would have to approach Him according to His instructions. God still demands that people approach Him properly.

Along the way they run out of water and food and they complain, yet God still loving provides for them.
Evil Intent & God's Mercy - Genesis 37-50

Evil Intent & God’s Mercy - Genesis 37-50, Pastor Scott L. Harris. Grace Bible Church, September 9, 2007. In this sermon Pastor Harris traces God's preservation of His chosen people from both the evil influences of the Canaanites and a severe famine through Joseph becoming second in command in the nation of Egypt. Though Joseph has suffered from the evil intentions of his brothers who sold him into slavery, and the evil intentions of Potiphar's wife who lied about him and had him thrown in jail, God used those very things to train Joseph and then elevate him into a position in which he was able to save both Egypt and his family from the seven years of severe famine.
