Good morning. My name is Ray Marchetti. I am 47 years old and moved here to Dutchess County 15 years ago from lower Westchester. I am married 25 years and have three girls ages 23, 21 & 16.
As a child I would lie awake at night thinking if I would die there would be nothing afterwards, just darkness. That fear would grip me greatly.

I was not raised in church environment. I was baptized Episcopalian at the age of 4 months and I thought I was Christian because I was not a Muslim or a Jew. My family did celebrate Christmas and Easter, but of course it was for Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. I knew these holidays had something to do with Jesus and I knew He took away the sin of the world, but I did not know what that meant.
From a very early age I was looking for truth, I was what you would call a "truth seeker." My search brought me to some crazy places: I had Bible studies with Jehovah's Witnesses and I was a card carrying member of the New Age Movement. That in itself brought me some pretty crazy experiences!!
Testimony of E Christian Grossman
Sun, 2010-06-06 19:34 TestimoniesMy Testimony - E. Christian Grossman
Before receiving Christ as my personal savior, I was living according to the truth - The truth, the laws and the regulations as they were presented to me by man. I was living my life within guidelines that are legalistic and in many cases immoral, corrupt or at the least, questionable. The world I was living in was a world full of fear, confusion, suspicion and hostility. My life, as a result of living within the bounds of what men deem as being sensible, acceptable or reasonable was too often consumed with feelings of disappointment, disillusion and hopelessness. Unfortunately, that same world exists today just as it did on Feb. 28, 2006 when I met with Pastor Scott Harris for the first time.
Testimony of Karyn Jordan

My testimony and walk with Christ, like that of many others, is an illustration of God's grace. My family attended church when I was growing up and we were involved in many church activities. Although I accepted Christ in my youth, I never learned how to have an intimate relationship with Him and never knew how much He loved me. Unfortunately, there wasn't any discussion of Jesus or much sharing in of Jesus outside of church and in our home. It was taught at church but never a part of our daily home life. Nothing spiritual was ever discussed that I recall.
Testimony of Bob Jordan
Sun, 2010-06-06 19:31 TestimoniesThis testimony was presented by Bob Jordan at the Men's Prayer Breakfast in September.
When I was asked to speak today, my first reaction was trepidation, there was a certain level of privacy that I was not sure I wished to part with. But after asking God I was reminded that he had brought me to this place in my life, and it was his desire that I share my story today. I trust the Lord will use these words to His glory.
My earliest recollections revolved around the church. I was born into a spiritual family and began a journey with the Lord that in retrospect affirms that God's grace is too great to be fathomed by human efforts. During those formative years, my parents diligently laid the foundations for a Godly life. I was seen as a good kid with a bright future. Their future and my future however were vastly different. As a preteen I was questioning the need for Godly standards and I began to drift. By 18 a full scale rebellion against God was brewing in my soul. It was my life and it would be lived my way as far from God as I could muster. Realizing the path I was on, my father told me words that would later haunt me, he told me that "You can walk away and reject God, but he will bring you back, and God's correction will be exacting and severe." He also told me that he would never stop praying for me and hoped that God's intervention would not be necessary.

Growing up, our family was not religious, but we had a simple rule - "respect other people’s religions, just don’t change yours."
I grew up in a Hindu home and attended a Muslim elementary school since it was the closest school to our some and religion was not taught at the school. I learned to pray in both Hindi and Arabic at a young age and even through I didn’t speak the languages, it was the only way I knew how to pray. When I received the Book of Psalm at this school I started reading the psalms at prayer time because it was easier to understand. May years later I realized those books were dropped off by missionaries.

Sun, 2010-06-06 19:26 TestimoniesI had known my wife as a friend for a few years, and knew some of the struggles she was going through. I also realized that I wanted her as more than a friend; I wanted her to be my wife. So . . . I had a plan. Funny thing about those plans though; You think you came up with this brilliant idea, and that YOU had the ability to carry it out. I knew Linda didn't want or need another drinker or drugee in her life, so I would just quit both. Now, I just told you I was spending $2 - $3000.00 a month on drinking & drugs, and that's not a habit you can just quit, but I did. What I didn't realize until later is that there is NO WAY it was me who quit, but the LORD delivered me from it in preparation for meeting HIM.

Sun, 2010-06-06 19:24 TestimoniesI was born in Saugus, Massachusetts to a young, unhappy couple. At 17, my mother had eloped with my father to escape from her controlling mother. Grammy wanted my mom to be a debutante; someone who would marry into high society. My mother was a tom-boy, who was far happier helping her father, the plumber, turn wrenches. My dad was in the Navy, and absent from our home most of the time. When he was home, he spent most of his money on alcohol and was out drinking with his friends. My father didn't want children, but my mother thought it would settle him down. My sister Laurie's birth & mine did nothing to change him, and he gave my mom little to care for two growing girls.

I grew up in a Christian family, went to church on Sundays, and also went to a Catholic school for the first eight years of my life in the Bronx, NY. I knew all the Bible stories and about God and Jesus, but I was still really young and I didn’t fully understand the message of salvation. I used to pray all the time for Jesus to save me because I thought that He could take it away if I acted badly or if I did something wrong. In the Summer of 2000, I moved here (Wappingers Falls, NY).

Testimony of His Grace - Andy Csillag, June 26, 2005
I was baptized as an infant, went to church and Sunday school, participated in choir, youth group, and was confirmed. I went on a Vida Nueva weekend in my senior year in high school, and I had read a goodish chunk of the Bible. By all accounts, I was a Christian, but I wasn't and I didn't get it.

Sun, 2007-12-16 16:12 TestimoniesGood morning! Jeremiah 17:9 & 10 says "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds." I'm here to tell you a story about my heart, what it means to be truly saved, and how the Lord, in His kindness, put it all together for me on June 9th, 2007.
First, Salvation. What does it mean? According to Jesus, salvation is exclusively completed through Himself and only Himself. He makes that very clear throughout the gospels and specifically in John 14:6 when He says,"I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." We cannot have a legitimate relationship with God the Father without Jesus Christ interceding on our behalf. Thankfully, He allows us to recognize proof of His Lordship which is why true believers know beyond the shadow of a doubt with whom they will be spending eternity. Let me explain how the Lord brought me to that place of “beyond a shadow of a doubt.â€
