Though the gospel is openly proclaimed, only the saints will respond because the unrighteous refuse to believe it.

However, when attracting numbers crowds becomes the purpose and the gospel is toned down to avoid offense of the unbeliever, those same principles are detrimental. The change from being God centered to man centered changes the church into just a religious social organization.
