Invitation: You are invited to our Autumn Bible Conference. It is designed to encourage pastors, church planters, missionaries, and church leaders and their wives in faithful Biblical ministry. Its subject matter will be helpful to anyone that cares about the gospel and is concerned about doctrinal faithfulness.
Theme: “Contending for the Faith: Understanding & Responding to Current Winds of Doctrine.”
The current social turmoil sweeping our nation is based on philosophical ideas of social justice and critical race theory that have been building in our colleges and seminaries for many years. These same ideas have religious components that have invaded many Christian colleges and Seminaries that were once considered to be evangelical and conservative. The combination has had a very negative effect in many churches and its influence is growing. Even those within fundamental churches can be in danger if they are not prepared to understand and stand against current heresies. We also need to be able to go beyond that to reach those caught in these false doctrines and bring them back to the truth of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Speaker: will be Jonathan E. Harris, B.A. History (Edison University), M.Div. (South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary), M.A. History (Liberty University). Jonathan has become a somewhat unwilling expert in the area of apologetics against Social Justice and Critical Race Theory due to his experiences at SEBTS which has been very negatively affected by these winds of doctrine and now espouses them. He exposed what was happening in a podcast after graduation in 2018 and has been researching and dealing with those and related subjects ever since. Our Conference Plan – Virtual & Live: There will be three Bible Sessions and an update on what is happening in New York by Rev. Tom Stiles of Arise Ministries. There will also be a couple of prayer sessions and break times for fellowship. (See schedule below).
Due to regulations in New York which has made advance planning very difficult, we will not be meeting in the usual way at our usual location. We will be using ZOOM conferencing software to host a virtual conference. We will also be using Zoom Rooms for breakout sessions to enhance our fellowship during prayer and break times by allowing smaller groups to meet and then rejoin the main conference. Our Zoom attendance will be limited and accessed according to when registrations are received. Those who would like to meet physically may join us at our broadcast location (see below for details). The conference will also be live streamed as overflow for the zoom meetings and for those that do not wish to participate in the breakout sessions.
Cost: Free – NY IFCA does not charge for its conferences. The costs for the virtual conference are being absorbed by Grace Bible Church, Wappinger Falls, NY.
