In my younger years, I went to a catholic school that taught me almost nothing.  The only time I went to church is when the entire class went; even then, none of us understood the scripture that was read during our visit.

My mother thought we were out of touch with the Lord so we began attending a catholic church together.  Soon after we began to question their methods of worship and both of us felt something was missing.  After searching for a Christian church we stumbled upon Grace Bible Church, as soon as I heard the music being played, I knew we had found the perfect place to learn about the Lord.

After attending Grace Bible Church for about a year, I was learning a lot about salvation, and wanted to get saved, but I didn’t know how to go about it. I learned that Jesus is the son of God and my savior who died on the cross to pay for my sin.  He is risen from the dead and has given us the promise of everlasting life. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Schrieber and the AWANA program, on April 10, 2010 I was saved. My life has changed greatly since I gave my life to the Lord.

I have learned so much compared to my catholic life and the Lord is doing great works in my life. I used to hold grudges over the smallest things. The Bible has taught me to choose my battles and to forgive.  I learned that my school work is the Lord’s work and that I should do my best to honor him by getting good grades.

I pray in the future that I continue to grow in the Lord and be able to spread the word of how great the Lord is and what a glory it is to know and trust him in everything we do.

Romans 8:6-10, For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.  Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.  However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you, but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
